4-H builds on the strength of youth and adult partnerships. A 4-H volunteer is anyone who contributes their time, energy or talent to 4-H and is not paid by Cornell University Cooperative Extension – New York City (CUCE-NYC) for his or her contributions. All volunteers are screened and go through background checks.
4-H volunteer opportunities include:
- Mentoring – Providing leadership & guidance to 4-H clubs and groups.
- Community Outreach – Serving as an educator delivering workshops to youth &/or adults.
- Organizational Support – Assisting with events &/or day-to-day program operations.
- Resource Developers – Helping to identify program supports & funding opportunities
Volunteers are crucial to program delivery and help to keep the 4-H program alive.
