Youth Engagement/ Leadership Development

Youth provide supports and opportunities for youth development, the leadership skills and knowledge t o make decisions and take actions on issues of public/community concerns that impact their lives.

Programs include:

 4-H After-School Clubs & Special Interest Groups

4-H After-School Clubs and Special Interest Groups strengthen youth’s knowledge, leadership/life skills, and community service.

4-H trains youth workers and volunteers to reach youth in community agencies, schools, churches and other organized group settings through Clubs, The Youth Leadership Academy, Special Interest Groups and Independent 4-Hers.

OJJDP- 4-H Tech Wizards Mentoring Program

The 4-H Tech Wizards is a science and technology based project connecting community based volunteer mentors with middle school students.  Youth learn how to use various forms of technology including video and digital cameras, GPS units and GoogleMaps to explore their community’s strengths and challenges.  They develop community service projects to address local needs.
