Cornell University Cooperative Extension New York City collaborates with the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, the New York City Department of Health, and the New York City Office of Aging to implement the Farmers Market Nutrition Education Program at many farmers' markets and WIC senior program sites.

Impact and Value
A team of trained nutrition educators, student interns and volunteers promote fresh fruit and vegetable consumption through hot and cold food demonstrations and tasting at participating farmers' markets. This model provides work-force development opportunities for student interns, volunteers and EFNEP graduates who are trained as community nutrition educators.
