Collaborating for Health, Activity, and Nutrition in Children's Environments (CHANCE)

CHANCE is a statewide collaborative program funded by the Division of Nutritional Sciences (DNS) and EFNEP at Cornell University

In Collaboration With:
CUCE-NYC Family & Youth Development program

CHANCE is a series of workshops (10 lessons) in nutrition, physical activity and parenting skills that helps parents and caregivers create healthy environments in their homes, schools and communities. CHANCE is a statewide collaborative program funded by the Division of Nutritional Sciences (DNS) and EFNEP at Cornell University. The program is being implemented in Bushwick and Bedford-Stuyvesant, in collaboration with the Brooklyn District Public Health Office, the Food and Fitness Task Force, local schools, Head Start and other community organizations. DNS staff and Cooperative Extension staff in the Nutrition & Health and Family & Youth Development program areas make up the project team.
