CUCE-NYC works closely with partners to support positive development of youth, families and communities as they strive to reach their fullest potential. Opportunities are provided through research-based information, resources, and training in the areas of youth development, science and technology, and parenting education.
Program Goals
CUCE-NYC works collaboratively with faculty, volunteers, businesses, organizations and educational institutions in order to achieve the following goals:
- Increasing the competence and capacity of adults who work with youth to plan and implement high-quality youth development programs that result in improved outcomes for out-of-school youth programs
- Providing opportunities to develop, improve and enhance knowledge, skills and awareness in the applied sciences and technology through research-based information, resources, and training based on inquiry-based and experiential (hands-on) learning.
- Improving parenting skills by training agency leaders to implement projects such as Enhanced Parenting Skills and Talking to Kids about HIV/AIDS
