Celebrate Urban Birds-Mad About Raptors

Children Youth and Families at Risk Conference
CYFAR 2008 will feature keynote speakers, current youth and family research presenters, interactive workshops and computer labs, as well as a Program Showcase demonstrating the most successful CYFAR community programs. Plans are underway for a playground build in San Antonio in addition to in-depth pre-conference sessions on May 6. CYFAR 2008 will be at the Hyatt Regency San Antonio on the Riverwalk.

Urban Horticulture and Ecology Training Program
The program is a series 18 weekly workshops to train staff and volunteers of Central Park Conservancy and NYC Parks Department in the basics of horticulture and urban ecology. Expert instructors will lead participatory and hands-on classes, laboratory and field exercises, covering a range of topics. Some of these are botany, soil science, geology, turf managment, weeds, trees, perennials, urban ecosystems and wildlife. Workshops will be held at various locations including CUCE-NYC and Central Park.
