Celebrate Urban Birds!
The 2007 Celebration took place May 10-13
Urban Park Rangers led bird walks around Harlem Meer and collected citizen science data for the Celebration.
Celebrate Urban Birds, led by Cornell's Lab of Ornithology, is an annual opportunity for everyone across the country to participate in activities focused on birds and neighborhood habitat improvement. People everywhere learn about city birds, conduct bird counts for science, and engage in urban greening efforts. The 2007 Celebration theme centered on urban greening for birds (through container plantings, community gardens, community beautification projects, green rooftops). Check out the Celebrate Urban Birds website to learn more.
