Demonstration Farming & Education
Gericke Farm is CUCE-NYC's full-time agricultural "classroom". A partnership gives special needs students opportunity to grow and sell produce at their school
CUCE-NYC relies on the research and resources of Cornell University, Cornell Cooperative Extension statewide, and the efforts of several programs that actively work together to help to develop new agriculture and food system opportunities for New York.
New Farmer Development Project (NFDP)
New Farmer Development Project combines efforts of CUCE-NYC and Greenmarket to train and support a new generation of small-scale, new-immigrant farmers growing on Staten Island and in the tri-state area, and selling at New York City farmers' markets.
NFDP participants have been involved in production and mentorship efforts supported by special funding, including Enhancing Specialty Crop Production Businesses (below, left), and Training-of-Trainers Course for Small-Scale Farmers (below, right).

Gericke Farm
Gericke Farm, a partnership between New York State Parks and Recreation, CUCE-NYC and the New York City Board of Education in Staten Island is a full-time agricultural "classroom" giving special needs students vocational training experience and an opportunity to grow produce and sell it at their school.
